Edmonton Journal - Edmonton News : Big time cycling comes to Alberta
The launch of the Tour of Alberta, which will debut in September 2013 in Edmonton and Calgary as the largest pro cycling event in Canada, was made official Monday. Plans for the long-rumoured stage race, sanctioned by the Union de Cyclisme International (UCI), were unveiled at joint news conferences held in the two Alberta cities, which will stage key races in the six-day event.

1936-05-19 : Cynthia Ann Parker is kidnapped
During a raid, Commanche, Kiowa, and Caddo Indians in Texas kidnap nine-year-old Cynthia Ann Parker and kill her family. Adopted into the Commanche tribe, she lived a happy life until Texas Rangers recaptured her and forced her to return to live again among Anglo-Americans.
